We  support a highly replicable and scalable strategy to accelerate the global shift to regenerative economies

We are a global non-profit  that works to accelerate transformation of the agriculture industry to restore a liveable climate by transforming degraded lands into vibrant agro-ecological landscapes.

We transfer regenerative livelihood innovations and a model designed to incentivize smallholder farmers to protect and restore biodiverse, carbon-rich forests.

We help communities adopt the model and build their own regeneration hub— an innovative value added processing factory designed to provide for local farmers, produce profits, fuel land restoration, protect biodiversity and  engage the global food industry, investors and philanthropy.  It fills a gap that allows multiple actors to begin to co-finance the rapid scaling of regenerative agriculture.

Our 'Regeneration Hub' Model

Regeneration Hubs provide a means of scaling ecologically responsible agroforestry and layers of innovation including a village scale micro-factory designed to provide social & economic incentives for forest protection. Our model helps local leaders to empower women farmers through regenerative livelihoods.  They become the stewards of biodiverse forests and leaders of ecosystem restoration. Our model helps women farmers and their communities gain access to more equitable, ethical supply relationships and resources.

Eco & Social Benefits

  • Our model empowers women and indigenous communities

  • It increases carbon sequestration*

  • Protects biodiversity

  • Creates carbon negative biofuels

  • Localizes value-adding processing of farm products – keeping more money in the hands of local people

  • The zero waste factory is patented, creates biochar fertilizer, clean drinking water,  and green rural electricity

*An acre of multistrata agroforestry can seq. 4.45 tons carbon/hectare/year, comparable to those of afforestation and forest restoration, with the added benefit of producing food. (Project Drawdown, 2017)

  • Hubs facilitate the delivery of tools and processing equipment for social entrepreneurs, farming co-ops and other producer groups to help process crops and connect with markets,

  • The micro-factory is a modular design made of off-the-shelf components.

  • Hub factories can start out small, serving 40 families, and grow to serve over 6000.

  • An adaptable design that can process a wide array of locally appropriate agroforestry products.

    The roles we play

    Network Weaving

We connect a diverse set of global changemakers with communities that are exploring the potential of developing Regeneration Hubs and help them fill any gaps in leadership and practical skills needed to adapt the model to their own context and make it into a powerful engine for positive change.

    Capacity development

Regenerative Farms supports extensive capacity development and cross-project learning efforts, generating huge efficiencies, while ensuring that each Regeneration Hub is fully supported. Leaders help other leaders build the business and organizational skill to accelerate impact and then use knowledge sharing tools to disseminate innovations and lessons learned.

Regenerative Farms mobilizes corporate sponsors, philanthropic and impact investments to help accelerate high-potential projects and ventures in our network.
